Titans were too late on WR Demaryius Thomas

This is the first time Tate has surfaced as a potential trade candidate for the Patriots.

The Detroit Lions wide receiver must have been casually browsing the world of Twitter on Monday evening when he came upon a tweet from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, which noted that the Patriots are "are particularly interested in Demaryius Thomas and Golden Tate".

Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas shrugged off trade rumors, saying, "At the end of the day I'll have a job", according to The Athletic's Nicki Jhabvala.

The Broncos do plan to recognize the recently-dealt Thomas with modified signage for Sunday's game where in a insane twist that only sports can provide.

Why should Broncos fans change their tune and get on board for a Thomas trade to New England? At the age of 30, those opportunities are running low and Denver's championship window appears to have closed.

Which players for the Broncos could actually be on the move this year? "I'll be able to do what I love".

The Broncos also might get something decent in return from the Patriots.

If the Broncos were winning a lot of games and playing at a high level, Thomas would not be going anywhere.

Thomas would have the chance to play with Tom Brady, meaning he would have ultimately caught passes from arguably the two best quarterbacks to ever play the game (Peyton Manning) and receive checks from the guy who rounds out the top three (John Elway).

Thomas, of course, was on the hook for $8.5 million this season ($4.5 million of which will be picked up by the Texans), and has a non-guaranteed $14 million base salary for the 2019 season.
