Just Which Outlets Are Trump’s ‘Enemy’? By His Definition, There Are Many

In a September 16 tweet, he characterized all of mainstream media as "fake news".

"The very first thing the media does was blame the president".

"President Trump, you are not welcome in Pittsburgh until you stop targeting and endangering all minorities".

Sanders responded by reiterating that the media jumped to blame the president.

The group said Jews are not the only ones who have been targeted by Trump's rhetoric; the president has "deliberately undermined the safety of people of colour, Muslims, LGBTQ people, and people with disabilities", it said.


When President Donald Trump visits Pittsburgh Tuesday, he'll be faced with the tough task of balancing the traditional presidential duty to comfort and unite the country following the deadly synagogue shooting with his instinct to rip into his political foes and the press.

Press Secretary Sanders fired back at the media during a briefing Monday, saying the first thing the press did after the shooting was blame the president.

Doyle said he was told that Trump would visit a 911 call centre Tuesday morning in Pittsburgh.

U.S. Attorney Scott Brady said Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania synagogue shooting suspect Robert Bowers appeared in a federal court today, and said a judge set a court hearing for November 1. "He is certainly welcome".

Jim Acosta, the chief White House correspondent at CNN, asked Sanders if the term "enemy" should be reserved for people "who are actually the enemy of the United States rather than journalists".

"If the president is looking to come to Pittsburgh, I would ask that he not do so while we are burying the dead". Sanders echoed that during a testy White House news briefing. "At times I think there's individuals that the president would be referencing". She went on to say that many of Trump's family members are Jewish, including his daughter and son-in-law, the descendant of Holocaust survivors.


Rabbi Jonathan Perlman closed the door and pushed them into a large supply closet, he said. "Expressing support for the congressman who body-slammed a reporter, the neo-Nazis who killed a young woman in Charlottesville, his supporters at rallies who get violent with protesters, dictators around the world who murder their own citizens, and referring to the free press as the enemy of the people".

A package containing a crude explosive device was addressed to former CIA Director John Brennan at the Time Warner Center in Manhattan, which prompted evacuation of CNN's NY bureau, housed within the building.

CNN President Jeff Zucker said another suspicious package addressed to CNN was intercepted Monday at an Atlanta post office. But he has continued to hold political rallies.

President Trump sent out a couple of tweets Monday pushing back on the idea that he's called the media the "enemy of the people".

"CNN and others in the Fake News Business keep purposely and inaccurately reporting that I said the 'Media is the Enemy of the People.' Wrong!"
