"They say it's a game of inches", James White said after the Patriots' 38-31 win over the Bears on Sunday, "and that's kind of what it came down to".

Barner has played no more than 12 percent of the team's offensive snaps since Week 4 (when Burkhead was out). But the Patriots beat the Bears for the eighth time in nine games since the 1985 team got routed in the Super Bowl.

Here are five takeaways from the game. "I wish I could answer it", Allen said in typical evasive Patriots fashion.

Tom Brady finished 25-of-36 passing for 277 yards, three touchdowns, and his seventh interception of the season. The game was a battle of momentum swings, that might have come at a significant cost to the Patriots. "But fortunately enough, we were able to hold them out of the end zone".

"My legs just got taken out from under me and before I knew it I was flat on my back", he said. The Bears fed the Patriots two touchdowns.

From that point on, the Patriots ran 22 times for 79 yards with a long run of 8 yards. The Bears are striving to become a victor, but in some ways, they beat themselves against the Patriots. "It's always tough when you play [Brady]".

"Obviously we take a lot pride in what we do, so we've got to watch the film, correct it and get ready to make some plays coming up the next game", Houston-Carson said.

Robinson was limited in the game with a groin injury, and so quarterback Mitchell Trubisky chose White as the target for his last-second throw for a shot to tie or win the game.

Overall, the Bears allowed 14 points on special-teams mistakes and 24 points on defense.

Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman would like to the thank the Cleveland Browns for trading away Josh Gordon, the latest addition to New England's receiving corps. Brady was intercepted by Kyle Fuller when FB James Develin couldn't reel in a catchable ball.

Braunecker wasn't exactly sure what happened right after the loss, but called the play "really unacceptable" and said he was embarrassed.

"I had him matched up on a one-on-one, and he just went up and got it", quarterback Tom Brady said. "Tried to change the game, make a big-time play".

Although the Patriots had four scoring drives of 64 yards or longer, it was the opening drive of the game and the fourth-quarter, 96-yard drive that hurt the most. He got the whole offense involved, including Josh Gordon's first 100-yard game as a Patriot. But it was just enough to help close things out.
