Le'Veon Bell's relationship with the Pittsburgh Steelers has been an ongoing headline all season. But that now appears unlikely to happen, according to a new report from ESPN.

We know he's going to be coming back, but when?

Bell could instead report October 22. With the bye week rapidly approaching, you would assume Bell would check in with his team. However, with the Steelers observing their bye week, players will be off Thursday through Sunday, and Bell will not rejoin them prior to the break. CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora also reported Sunday the Steelers still are considering trading the 26-year-old running back if he signs his $14.5 million franchise tag before the October 30 trade deadline.

Still, Bell has engaged in no known contact with the Steelers, meaning he could appear out of nowhere or decide to stay away.

Even if Bell returns, Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has argued for weeks that Conner shouldn't be sent into the shadows.

Additionally, Bell is costing himself money by not returning during the bye week. "I still do want to go out there and win a Super Bowl with the Steelers". With the exception of Todd Gurley, Bell is the most dynamic running back in the NFL. James Conner has played well in his place, establishing himself as a dual-threat weapon.
