Now it turns out that Youtube had a major blackout.

YouTube users are reporting that the worldwide video streaming service is now down.

Responding to the reports of error and outage, the Team Youtube took to micro-blogging website Twitter and said that they are working towards resolving the issue. "We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and will keep you updated", Team Youtube posted on Twitter.

An outage for YouTube of this scale affects hundreds of millions of its users, if not the entire billion-strong community. "#YouTubeDOWN" is now trending on social media leaving us wondering when this outage will be resolved.

In related news, last month, Google announced that it's merging the gaming-centric features of YouTube Gaming to YouTube's primary website.

Some users were met by an "internal service error" message. The pages of individual videos show playback errors.

YouTube's search functions continued to function on the web and mobile app - however, the videos were not playable from the results screen.

YouTube tweeted that it was aware of the disruption to YouTube, YouTube TV and YouTube Music and was working to fix it as soon as possible.
