The team attempted to change Butler's mind on a trade request and get him to report to practice. ESPN's Amin Elhassan said on "The Jump" Wednesday afternoon that Butler led the team's third-stringers in a scrimmage against their starters - and beat them. "But I think that's the problem, everybody is so scared to be honest with one another". I'm going to be honest, if your number one priority isn't winning, people can tell. This came only a few hours after Butler ended his hold out from the Wolves and returned to a practice in which he went nuclear on just about everybody.

The report also stated that several players spoke up during the meeting, but that it was mainly Butler doing the talking. Butler then spoke at length with ESPN's Nichols, discussing his contentious relationship with the team and coaches. I don't know how to put it, but it made me think like maybe I'm not that important to your organization. On Wednesday, Butler reportedly verbally challenged teammates, coaches and the front office during the practice session. "All my emotion came out at one time".

This saga started in mid-September, when it became known that Butler told Thibodeau that he wanted a trade.

Minnesota and Miami advanced to the brink of a blockbuster trade for Butler over the weekend - only for the deal to fracture before completion, sources said. "You can't win without me". Thibodeau has said the team will try to make Butler happy, but has cautioned throughout the process that Minnesota will only do a deal that it deems is good for Minnesota.

Minnesota and Miami were in the "11th hour" of trade talks, according to Wojnarowski, but the deal fell apart as the Timberwolves "pushed late for a sweeter return" in a potential trade.

"You f-king need me", Butler screamed at a general manager who does not want to trade a star forward who pushed Minnesota to the playoffs last season.
