While Alvaro Morata's return to form has been a welcome boost ahead of the second worldwide break, Eden Hazard has been the man to watch as the Belgian has been in terrific nick ever since the season began.

"He will become a very important player in England and for the national team".

There's a positive mood among the Stamford Bridge faithful thanks to the attractive brand of football brought in by Maurizio Sarri, but there's a worry they're becoming over reliant on star man Eden Hazard.

Chelsea dominated for large parts of the opening 20 minutes and they were camped in the Southampton half, but they were unable to register a clear attempt at goal.

Starting XI: McCarthy (6); Cédric (5), Yoshida (6), Bednarek (6), Hoedt (7), Bertrand (6); Lemina (6), Hojbjerg (5), Redmond (5); Gabbiadini (6), Ings (4).

Barkley scored one and made one for Chelsea.

There are misses, and there are misses.

"We are enjoying playing well and scoring goals", he told Sky Sports. The former Liverpool man did little to atone for his dire effort, and was unable to give his side the cutting edge they desperately needed going forward. That game ended in tense 0-0 draw that saw the Premier League champions move top of the table on goal difference, with Chelsea second and Liverpool third.

He added: "It's too early to be thinking about the title, we know it is tough to win".

- Since Mark Hughes's first Premier League match in charge of Southampton in March, the Saints have lost nine Premier League games - only Newcastle United have lost more (10).

Barkley looks a new man under Sarri, and the England worldwide celebrated his recall to the national team with a stellar performance on Sunday.

But that's what happened on Sunday after Ross Barkley's brilliant midfield display at Southampton.

MF N'Golo Kante, 8 - A dynamic performance that saw Kante covering Jorginho's back and linking up well with Hazard and Barkley to help Chelsea maintain their high-press. He has quality in the physical and technically point of view and now is improving in the tactical point of view.

To be fair, none of the Chelsea players had a shocker at all.
