Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (6) throws a pass under pressure from New York Jets defensive back Jamal Adams (33) during the second half at FirstEnergy Stadium.

Down 14-0 the Browns brought in the former Heisman Trophy victor to try and salvage some pride for a team that was in the midst of the NFL's second longest winless streak since the AFL-NFL merger in 1970. He then rallied the Browns back from a two-touchdown deficit to a 21-17 comeback win over the Jets - snapping Cleveland's 19-game winless streak.

Baker Mayfield's time has come.

As fate would have it, Mayfield and the offense took the lead late 21-17 off a touchdown from Carlos Hyde and the stellar defense held the Jets off for their first win in 635 days.

Darnold had one last chance, but was intercepted by Terrence Mitchell with 11 seconds left. "Bud Light couldn't be more thrilled for the Browns and the city of Cleveland as they savor the taste of this long awaited victory".

Joseph stayed on the field and kicked by himself during the opening coin toss, and each of his makes drew a rousing ovation from Cleveland fans.

The Browns suspended radio reporter Nathan Zegura eight games for his conduct on the sideline during last Sunday's loss at New Orleans. Landry then lofted a pass into the end zone to Mayfield, whose conversion tied it and sent Cleveland fans into a frenzy.

Mayfield came out firing and competed his first three passes for 47 yards, which was especially impressive, because Taylor had only been able to muster a total of 19 passing yards during his six possessions on the field.

At the start of the play, Mayfield ran out of the backfield on a pass pattern and the ball was directly snapped to running back Duke Johnson Jr.
