In shock news, Jurgen Klopp has ridiculed Gary Neville's suggestion that Liverpool should improve their Premier League title prospects by treating the Champions League lightly.

It's odd that Neville really does think that Liverpool have a chance of winning the title and really was just giving his opinion on what their downfall might be.

"He comes from another league, a completely different system which Monaco played, and we have a good team together so that takes time".

Liverpool were beaten 4-1 by Spurs in this fixture last season, which ended up sparking an 18-game unbeaten run for the Reds.

"The most hard [thing] is when you don't have a lot of players", said Klopp.

Speaking to The Times ahead of Liverpool's game against Tottenham Hotspur, Neville said, "The Champions League - if I was Liverpool, I would kick it into touch".

The Brazilian global is likely to be excluded from the starting lineup once again against Tottenham, although one can expect him to be in contention when Liverpool return to Champions League action next week.

"I know that's very hard to do but if they could go into February, March, April without it, I think they could have a real chance if they had free weeks.
Sitting in an office talking about football is different to doing the job". We lost [Philippe] Coutinho [to Barcelona], but signed three or four top players.

The Reds have picked an impressive 43 points from 28 games against Spurs, Manchester United, Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal. The club he's more interested in.

"Come on. If, against Liverpool at Wembley, you do not have the desire and the focus to play, it is not about playing well, it is about attitude and to say, "Hey, come on, we are aggressive and we try to win".

"To focus on one competition can only be if you are already out, or almost out, or if it's late in the season".

"The thing is it is absolutely no problem".

"The plan was - and is still - he will make us better and that is what we are working on". That is not nice, but it is the job.
