In a statement his family said Miller was a "bright light in this world for his family, friends and fans".

A representative for Miller did not respond to requests for comment and Los Angeles emergency services declined comment.

A van from the coroner's office was also parked outside before driving away with the musician's body.

Mac, who struggled with drugs throughout his life, dated pop singer Ariana Grande for two years before separating in May.

His 2016 album, "The Divine Feminine", charted at number 2 on the Billboard 200 and featured guest appearances from Kendrick Lamar, Anderson Paak, and Ariana Grande.

In May, shortly after the end of his two-year relationship with the pop singer Ariana Grande, Miller was charged with a DUI after police said he hit a utility pole with his auto. Best thing that could have happened. Miller sold more than 100,000 copies of the woozy, moody album, which features appearances or production work from Diplo, Flying Lotus, Earl Sweatshirt, Jay Electronica and Action Bronson.

"How absurd you minimize female self-respect and self-worth by saying someone should stay in a toxic relationship because he wrote an album about them, which btw isn't the case (just Cinderealla is ab me)", she tweeted. "I have cared for him and tried to support his sobriety & prayed for his balance for years". The news comes just weeks after he was charged with a DUI, and months after his breakup from Ariana Grande.

Notable quote: "I just wanna go on tour", Miller tweeted on Thursday.

This was the party line, recited in interviews right up until his death, as Miller's music began to increasingly resemble a window into the medicine cabinet of a man with deepening drug dependency issues, among other demons. His latest album Swimming was released on August 3. I want to be able to have good days and bad days ...

Acknowledging the close proximity of the plane incident and the vehicle crash, the musician took to Twitter soon after and wrote: 'God must hate me lol'.

Pittsburgh Slim, a rapper from Miller's home town, also visited and placed a bouquet of flowers at the door of the house. He has talked about having a bar mitzvah and celebrating Jewish holidays growing up. At 14, when he was in high school, Miller started rapping and once described himself as "the coolest Jewish rapper".

Despite the fact that they were no longer together, new reports are claiming that Ariana Grande was still very affected by the death of her ex, rapper Mac Miller.
