#MeToo setback: No LA sex charges for Spacey, Seagal, Anderson

Neither Kevin Spacey nor Steven Seagal will face charges for alleged sexual assaults that took place about 25 years ago.

The allegations against Spacey, who was accused in a West Hollywood assault in 1992, and Seagal, who was implicated in a case dating back to 1993, were beyond the statute of limitations, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors are however reviewing another case involving Spacey that includes allegations he attacked a man in Malibu in October 2016.

As for Anderson, the woman who accused him of assault declined to be interviewed by investigators, the declination stated.

In 2017, police began investigations into an allegation of a 2008 assault in the London borough of Lambeth and two allegations of sexual assault in 2005, one in Westminster and one in Lambeth.

The D.A.'s task force was formed after dozens of Hollywood directors, producers and actors were accused of sexual misconduct in the wake of the Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse scandal.

Seagal is still under scrutiny for another alleged sexual assault, although the details of the accusation are unclear.

Prosecutors have also decided not to file charges against actors Steven Seagal and Anthony Anderson over alleged sex crimes.

This isn't the first time Anthony has had such cases pinned against him.

Actor Anthony Rapp, 46, told BuzzFeed last October that when he was a teenager, Spacey, then in his 20s, made a sexual advance toward him. That makes it too old to prosecute under the relevant penal code at the time.

After Rapp made his allegation, Spacey issued a statement saying he did not remember the encounter but apologised for "deeply inappropriate drunken behaviour".

United Kingdom police are also looking into several accusations against the actor.

Actor Kevin Spacey speaks with the media at the premiere of Netflix's television series "House of Cards" at Alice Tully Hall in the Lincoln Center in New York City January 30, 2013.

He was dropped previous year from the Netflix television series House of Cards and erased from the film All the Money in the World.
