The camera in the Note 9 will use artificial intelligence to detect what's in a scene — whether that's food, flowers or a sunset — to automatically tweak images to make them pop.

On the design of the Galaxy Note9, the Infinity Display is the cornerstone of Samsung's design heritage, and Galaxy Note9 has the largest edge-to-edge display ever on a Note. While many more smartphones are coming in at the $1000 mark, and the Galaxy Note 9 is arguably the one that's most worthy of that price, that's still a lot to pay for a smartphone.

Following a slew of leaks and media hype, Samsung has officially pulled back the curtain and unveiled its new Galaxy Note 9 - its most "powerful" and expensive smartphone to date [A$1,799/512GB]. The Note 9 was launched earlier than last year's model because Samsung is looking to put some distance between its new phone and Apple's incoming iPhone X models. While the previous report said only one of the three phones would come with a triple-camera, ETNews reports now that two models may come with a three camera setup. The Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime sports a single lens 13MP rear camera with LED flash. In a jab at Apple, Samsung executives also frequently emphasize that their phones have standard headphone jacks, which newer iPhones no longer do. Available in Ocean Blue with a Pearl Yellow S Pen (128GB & 512GB), Midnight Black, (128GB), and Metallic Copper (128GB), the Galaxy Note9 champions sophisticated and elegant design. Now this isn't a big surprise, but it does mean that the latest and greatest from Samsung is running on - what is now - an old version of Android. And the Note 9 has a huge battery, which could lead to some customer concern considering everything that happened with the Galaxy Note 7.

Avi Greengart, analyst at GlobalData, described the upgrades in the latest Samsung as "iterative", adding "there is nothing radically new here".

With stereo speakers tuned by AKG and powered by Dolby Atmos, the Galaxy Note9 provides superb and surround-sound experiences.
