Another mass shooting was unfolding in Florida, this time at a tournament for competitive players of the football video game, Madden, in Jacksonville, Florida.

" Katz is believed to have stayed in the Jacksonville area the night before the shooting, possibly at a hotel". And this is pending confirmation, but we believe the suspect to be 24-year-old David Katz from Baltimore, Maryland.

In disturbing footage apparently captured as part of a livestream on video gaming website Twitch, several gunshots could be heard in the background, before the stream disconnected.

He said the man died from a self-inflicted gunshot and that authorities were still making final confirmation of his identity with the Federal Bureau of Investigation assisting them in Baltimore.

Katz was a participant in the video game tournament and reportedly became angry when he was defeated, according to witnesses.

Jones said he knew Katz by the gamer tags he used online - often "Bread" or "Sliced Bread" - and had played against him online but had never spoken to him personally. Drini Gjoka, one such player, said a bullet struck him in the thumb. "Then we heard repeat shots and we took off running", said Williams, who participated in the tournament earlier.

He said local fire and rescue transported nine victims - seven of whom had gunshot wounds - to local hospitals, while another two people who were shot took their own transportation to hospital.

At least three patients were shot once, and three were shot a couple of times, UF Health said.

Others just straight up said she doesn't care about the shooting.

Florida Governor Rick Scott said he had offered the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office any state resources it needed. They say they are "working with authorities to gather facts at this stage".

Gjoka tweeted: "The tourney just got shot up".

Dahlman added that as more is revealed about what happened in Jacksonville, tournaments will learn new and better ways to run these events. "But I am not going to take it out on my opponent", Aleman said.

Police have not named any of the individuals who were injured but local media Action News JAX named three survivors. "I saw four people on stretchers and then two other guys getting carried".

It's unclear what kind of security was at the event, which was held at a game bar inside a waterfront mall.
