The clip shows Jon Snow and Sansa Stark reunite after Snow's battle with the White walkers in season seven.

The footage is interspersed in a short promo video for HBO's 2019 lineup, and while it also includes shots from Season 7, there are a few noticeably new scenes featuring Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen.

Based on George RR Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire novels, Game of Thrones also stars Lena Headey, Peter Dinklage, Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.

The sequence appears to show the two embracing in a snowy setting, hinting that Jon could make it back to Winterfell at some point in the forthcoming six episodes.

Looks like Game of Thrones has become a game oftrying to figure out when this show will actually return! Some of the shows that can be found in the trailer is new seasons of Veep, True Detective, and Jennifer Garner's new series Camping.

Blink and you'll miss it, but there's new Game of Thrones footage to be had.

Joe continued: "We're going to be toiling away on season eight until May of 2019, so it's eight or nine months away".

It's the briefest look at the new season.

Now, this isn't confirmed by any official HBO outlets, and the HBO president of programming, Casey Bloys, has previously suggested that they're targeting the first half of 2019 for a release.

The post production supervisor went on to say his schedule is locked in until next May for the mammoth task of finishing off Game of Thrones too. So, if Game of Thrones won't be eligible until 2020, that means it won't be airing most of its six episodes until after May 31st.

'The prequel is starting to shoot in February, at least the pilot, ' he said.

So far we've only seen leaked set images from the eighth and final season of HBO's hit fantasy series.
