Besiktas leak Loris Karius Liverpool departure on Twitter

A report in the Liverpool Echo suggested the club moved on Karius due to inferior Premier League experience and professionalism compared to his Belgian teammate.

Since the defeat Liverpool suffered against Real Madrid in the 2018/19 Champions League final, the 25-year-old has not played another competitive game for the Anfield landlords.

Karius' departure had been coming for quite a while after he failed to capitalise on the opportunity afforded to him by manager Jurgen Klopp.

Klopp moved quickly to replace Karius with Brazil's World Cup 'keeper Alisson from Roma in a £65-million ($83 million) deal.

Being number two or number three makes little difference. Playing minutes is the most important.

"I find it freaky that Karius has been loaned, while I also had options to be loaned".

And Mignolet is shocked that Karius has been loaned out given he was above him in the pecking order.

"I really think Loris is a fantastic goalkeeper and is a very good goalkeeper age".

"A big Thank You goes out to all of the Liverpool fans for the support until now - you indeed never let me walk alone". But for some reason that was not possible. "Nothing decided. If it happens then we will speak about it".

Klopp may find himself speaking as regularly about Alisson as he did last season about Salah, who has picked up where he left off with second goals in three matches.

'I had a few centre-halves who were able to do things a centre-half should not do, like Mats Hummels (at Borussia Dortmund) constantly doing things which made no sense but he was really good in there.
