Perez becomes Manuel Pellegrini's ninth signing of the season as much will be expected from the London club in the new season.

Sanchez joins Lucas Perez as the players announced at the east London club on deadline day after the striker signed from Arsenal earlier in the day.

The 29-year-old has signed a three-year deal with the Hammers, having spent the last two seasons with the Gunners.

Perez scored seven goals in 21 appearances for the Gunners, with agent Rodrigo Fernandez Lovelle telling ESPN FC on Monday that he wanted to stay in London and prove himself in the Premier League.

"I'm very happy to be here at such a historic club".

West Ham have already spent big this summer, landing the likes of Felipe Anderson, Issa Diop and Andriy Yarmolenko - as well as bringing in former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere on a free transfer.

Arsenal paid a fee of £17million to sign Perez from Deportivo La Coruna in August 2016 but he is reported to have cost West Ham just £4m, with a potential £1m payable in add-ons.

However, the striker then opted to return to Deportivo on loan last season in search of more regular first-team football.

"I know that West Ham want him and they have made an offer", Lucas's agent Rodrigo Fernandez Lovelle told ESPN FC. But the Baggies are still hoping they can land the worldwide midfielder with the lure of playing in what could be a very exciting season as they battle for promotion back to the Premier League.

West Ham United have landed the signature of Colombia worldwide Carlos Sanchez. He scores goals, but can also create them and link well with the midfielders.
