Willian returns to Chelsea FC amid transfer reports

The West London club is now ineligible to play in the Champions League for the upcoming season and also fired manager Antonio Conte last month, bringing in former Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri.

His agent Christophe Henrotay had revealed that he had told Chelsea that Courtois wanted to go to Real Madrid.

"We didn't talk about this", Sarri said.

Pedro has scored two of Chelsea's three pre-season goals under new coach Maurizio Sarri and is glad to have committed his future to the club. "He plays very well, he's so young, he has a lot of quality, he's very technical".

Sarri, like many a Chelsea head coach before him, was in no position to offer assurances on either front in Dublin and while he insists he is bored by transfer matters, it can not be easy to lead amid such uncertainty.

The distance to City stood at 30 points in the final reckoning last season as Chelsea finished a distant fifth in the Premier League.

He said: 'I'm happy here.

"Of course the players have not got the top level now, a lot of trainings and travels and matches", the Italian said.

Sarri was then asked about his Brazilian winger Willian but was slightly more confident on the 29-year-old, "Willian? I want to speak to him", Sarri was quoted as saying by Sky Sports news.

There may be a problem with Stamford Bridge goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, though.

"It's also important that the performance is a step forward". Because it is very important to have a trophy immediately. It was very hard, very difficult. It is very hard for everybody to play against City. We have been enjoying it from the first day, learning and improving on what he wants.
