Midfielder Ramsey unsure of Arsenal future

Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey says he is excited about playing under new boss Unai Emery and expects movement on a fresh contract "in the next few weeks".

Nigerian global Iwobi, 22, progressed to the Arsenal first-team from the academy and his new contract is reportedly worth £70,000-a-week.

Ramsey said he was encouraged by the ideas and philosophy of Emery, the former Paris Saint-Germain coach, as his agent pursues talks with the Arsenal hierarchy.

"But we have to come to an agreement, I'm not sure how long it will take, we will have to wait and see".

The announcement will be made official once Arsenal return from their pre-season trip to the Far East.

"We'll see what happens but my agent and the club are talking".

C Harish Kumar Reddy is wary of Emery's appreciation for the player and hopes Arsenal "don't go that route" of signing Nzonzi.

The Welsh star, who arrived in north London from Cardiff in 2008, is reportedly being tailed by Italian outfit Lazio and Ramsey is said to be partial to a new adventure overseas.

"I think all the players are really looking forward to this season and hopefully we can hit the ground running right from the off".

Arsenal head coach Unai Emery is confident that chief executive Ivan Gazidis will stay at the Emirates, despite widespread reports in Italy linking him with AC Milan. Hopefully his situation will be sorted out as quickly as possible.

The London side are billed for two back-to-back crunch friendlies, as they line out first against Europa League champions, Atletico Madrid of Spain in the 2018 International Champions Cup.
