Federation Internationale de Football Association president Gianni Infantino on Friday confirmed the dates for the 2022 World Cup, which would be held in Qatar from 21 November to 18 December.

Germany came out of its shell, South Africa exceeded expectations and Russian Federation changed negative perceptions when they all hosted the World Cup but just what will unfold in four years' time when the tournament goes to Qatar is anyone's guess.

"There haven't been a great deal of incidents of the type we expected", Fare director Piara Powar said, praising Russian people who "played a magnificent role making people feel welcome".

The 2022 World Cup is set be the last involving 32 teams, before the competition is expanded to 48 entrants in 2026 - when it will be held in the US, Mexico and Canada.

Which meant at the world famous Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow on the eve of the final, president Putin could reflect on his myth-busting efforts. More teams from Africa and Asia will increase their chances to be a world champion.

Piara Powar, the executive director of the Fare Network, said that sexism had been a significant problem during the World Cup in Russian Federation and that the total number of incidents are likely to be 10 times as much as those reported.

We've discussed the issue of increasing the number of teams in the World Cup; we've done a lot of research on that and unanimously made a decision to increase the number of teams to 48, ' he stressed.

"We cannot solve the world's problems but the World Cup can contribute to opening up some channels and discussions, and maybe those who have to take the important decisions can at least speak to each other". "You don't have to look any further than the countries that were left out of this World Cup". The match is to be played between France and Croatia.

"It is hard to think of the World Cup without VAR, it has been certainly a more just competition..."

At the climax of the ceremony, Putin handed an official World Cup ball to Infantino, who then handed it on to the emir.

Over the past four weeks, in 11 cities throughout the European part of the largest country in the world, it has been a tournament that has arguably improved Russia's image overseas as well as Russians' esteem for the world's most popular sport.
