That Lave Red variant of the OnePlus 5T was a limited edition offering and it sold out quickly. While it will be available globally starting July 9th, it goes on sale from July 16th in India.

In addition to the red option, OnePlus tells us that they'll re-stock their OnePlus Bullets Wireless on July 10 too. This year, the company takes it a bit easy on nomenclature, as it's chosen to dub the the device as simply OnePlus 6 Red, which clearly doesn't have the same feel as "Lava Red".

Back during the pre-launch rumour-leaking stage of the OnePlus 6's life, it had been suggested that there could be a limited edition version of the phone available in red - much like older OnePlus devices. It was meant to arrive on July the second, and true to their word OnePlus have today made it official.

Having more color options when buying a smartphone is always a good thing, and this OnePlus 6 Red is a good-looking device that stands out from the other OP6 colors.

Leaving a "strong impression of quality and value", the glossy phone was produced using a new film coating process that's "never been attempted before in the smartphone industry". The handset includes 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of inbuilt storage. The handset has a dual rear camera setup with a 16-megapixel primary Sony IMX519 sensor and an f/1.7 aperture and a 20-megapixel secondary Sony IM376K sensor. "Achieving the amber-like effect took several months to refine and flawless", OnePlus CEO Pete Lau said in a press statement.

OnePlus 6 Red Edition has been officially launched by the company.

Joining Midnight Black, Mirror Black and the oft-replenished Silk White model, the newest flavor of "the speed you need" has a simple name, but a very complex manufacturing process behind it.
