Todd was strolling along with Paula and her other dog, Cooper, in Anthem, Arizona when they came upon a hidden rattlesnake.

Todd is doing just fine after his big ordeal and Godwin said that "he's acting like a normal puppy".

Instead of Ms Godwin's legs, the venomous fangs sank into his snout. It was a attractive morning but as we were walking down the hill I literally nearly stepped on a ... rattlesnake.

Upon closer inspection of the viral picture, it's clear that Todd has a bandage above his right, front paw, as it looks like he is hooked up to an IV.

ABC13 says Paula Godwin posted on Facebook, praising her pup as a hero after he got between her and the snake.

A smooch for Todd from his owner Paula Godwin.

"Todd wants to help more puppies that may need help".

He was rushed to an animal hospital for treatment, and luckily is expected to make a full recovery.

On Sunday, Godwin wrote on Facebook that Todd was doing well and healing. "Donations are not towards Todd's bill but for those in need of help in paying unexpected vet bills". She also thanked the pup's many fans on the internet for their support and kindness.
