Colombia put together an impressive, convincing and dance-provoking 3-0 win over underwhelming Poland to remain alive in Group H play. Poland forward Dawid Kownacki will be favourite after impressing against Senegal as a second-half substitute.

After beating Poland, Colombia has three points.

Falcao, Colombia's all-time leading scorer with 30 goals, made sure he would stay healthy for this year's World Cup by sitting out several matches with his Monaco club this season. Whereas James was restricted to half-an-hour in Saransk on Tuesday, here he was fit enough to start alongside Quintero and the two of them proved far too much for Poland to handle.

Don't miss a moment of the World Cup!

Colombia led 1-0 at half-time thanks to Yerry Mina's towering header following a well-worked short corner.

"We know that we were trying to cover the opposing players but step by step we tried to play even more offensively", Nawalka said.

Four years after Radamel Falcao was supposed to lead Colombia at the World Cup, he's doing just that.

Colombia resumed in positive fashion, Cuadrado holding up well to set up Falcao for a first-time drive that sailed over Szczesny's crossbar.

The two teams are in Group H along with Japan and Senegal, and both have ground to make up after suffering 2-1 losses in their openers.

"I'm very sorry and very sad about the result, but tomorrow's another day and we have to come to terms with things", said Poland coach Adam Nawalka.

The victory kept Colombia in the running for a spot in the round of 16 and knocked out Poland, the first European country to be eliminated. We lost to a very strong team and this is something we have to accept. Cuadrado collected the pass and rushed toward the box, timing his shot perfectly to beat goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny.

Five minutes later, Rodriguez produced arguably the assist of the night, drawing several Polish players on the left flank before somehow finding Cuadrado on the run with a superb cross-field pass that the pacey winger tucked away.
