After the match, Koulibaly who plays for Italian club Napoli hinted that his former boss Maurizio Sarri is set to be appointed Chelsea's new boss.

Napoli's Senegalese worldwide centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly certainly believes Sarri is headed to Chelsea as he told English radio station talkSPORT after his country's opening 2-1 victory over Poland in the World Cup.

And the 27-year-old defender, Koulibaly, believes that Chelsea will be able to enjoy some excellent football under Sarri who made Napoli one of the most attractive sides in Serie A last season.

'I'am disappointed that he leaves like this but we have now a big coach.

"[Chelsea fans] can expect nice football because he is a very good coach", Koulibaly told talkSPORT after Senegal's win. We know we can win something with him.

Brazilian central defender David Luiz had been snubbed by manager Antonio Conte and Gary Cahill's poor form meant that Chelsea had to utilize a young Dane called Andreas Christensen in the heart of the defence. I hope he can win something with Chelsea. The last two seasons have been, by far, the best and most fruitful in his career, with the Belgian forward finishing each campaign as the club's top scorer. At Chelsea I think it will be the same.' He added.

The centre-half was the subject of a summer-long pursuit by Chelsea in 2016, and was again wanted 12 months ago, but he has suggested he will be staying at Napoli to work with Sarri's successor Ancelotti.

"At Napoli, we enjoyed it so much and the supporters enjoyed it so much, too".

The summer transfer window is open and managers are working hard on their transfer targets so we'll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe.
