James Corden has premiered his Carpool Karaoke with Paul McCartney, and the Late Late Show host reckons that it's the best one he's ever done.

"Oh man, it got me emotional there", Corden said, wiping his eyes after the song.

Sir Paul McCartney climbed in next to Corden, revealed tidbits about himself and the Beatles, and crooned show-themed songs such as "Penny Lane" (the actual road they were driving on) and "Drive My Car", per USA Today.

As they made their way down the road, the song began to play on the radio and the former Beatle sang along before they left the vehicle and the singer signed his autograph on the road sign.

They then leave the auto to visit the barber's shop mentioned in the song - leaving the owner in sheer disbelief.

"Your music is so full of positivity and joy and a message of love and togetherness", Corden said to McCartney.

Their conversation got emotional as McCartney recounted a dream he'd had where his mother reassured him everything was going to be OK.

They sing the song and Corden can not contain his emotion. "I'll never ever forget it".

It is now a National Trust property.

"I didn't feel it coming, it's too much for me".

As their journey continued, McCartney shared the story behind the making of that tune and others, like the early hit "She Loves You"; gave Corden a tour of the home where he wrote numerous early Beatles tunes with John Lennon; and eventually surprised some unsuspecting pub customers with a live concert and emotional rendition of "Hey Jude".

The episode featured the same sing- and ride-along that has made the segment so popular, but of course, with a legend like Paul in the passenger seat, it was not your usual episode.
