Former Shakhtar Donetsk boss Mircea Lucescu has confirmed Fred has completed his transfer to Manchester United.

Asked whether 25-year-old Fred can make an impact at Old Trafford, Willian replied: 'Of course, no doubt about that.

Manchester United's doctors are being kept busy this week as Diego Dalot is poised to arrive for his medical ahead of signing from Porto, according to Sky Sports.

Now he knows he'll be playing in the Premier League next season, Fred will jet off to Russian Federation and join up with his Brazil teammates as they prepare for the 2018 World Cup.

Fred made his senior debut for Internacional in 2012 before moving to Shakhtar in 2013. City were in the running to sign him but dropped their interest in January and have targeted Napoli's Brazilian-turned-Italian Jorginho instead.

The Red Devils announced the deal on Tuesday and are paying £52m to land the Brazilian, who will bolster Jose Mourinho's midfield options.

He faced United in the Champions League at Old Trafford during David Moyes' reign, and also played against Manchester City in last season's competition as Shakhtar reached the last 16.

The Belgian worldwide is reportedly a target for Arsenal this summer, and his departure from Old Trafford is all but confirmed as of now.

United might not yet be finished with transfer activity prior to the June 14 kickoff of the World Cup.
