Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are now on their honeymoon, but exactly where remains a mystery. Known for their love of nature, it came as little surprise that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex might want to explore one of their beloved Commonwealth countries, especially when they have close ties to Canada.

The website reports Harry and Meghan will check-in to a luxury cabin at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge in Alberta, spending a cool $9000 per night for the privilege.

This marked another way Prince Harry and Meghan were following in his older brother Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton's footsteps, who also made the same request when they got married in 2011.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will reportedly stay at the appropriately named Royal Retreat.

An early favourite was somewhere in Africa, as the continent holds a special place in both Harry and Meghan's hearts, although lately Canada has been gaining traction.

Where will they go on their honeymoon?

Lori Davis, 38, who lives in the same community as Mr Markle, told The Sun: "He's spoken to Prince Harry on many occasions and he has spoken to Harry and Meghan since the wedding".

"When gifts are accepted, the consent of the Member of the Royal Family should be contingent upon the enterprise undertaking not to exploit the gift for commercial purposes", the official rules state.

Harry also failed to pull in as many viewers as his uncle Prince Edward, whose wedding in June 1999 to the-then Sophie Rhys-Jones enjoyed a combined audience of 14.8 million.

Further, ahead of her grandson's big day, the 92-year-old monarch offered her approval for Harry to Wednesday Meghan, as he was required formal permission to marry under the Succession to the Crown Act. "And then I heard this magic word behind me that was Smarties, which is obviously an English candy, much like M&Ms, and they were being bribed with one Smartie here and one Smartie there".

The couple have yet to take their honeymoon and no details of where they may travel have been released.
