I think it's a record that will stay for a long time.

Gabriel Jesus' stunning last-gasp victor gave Manchester City a narrow victory over Southampton, taking Pep Guardiola's side to 100 points for the season - a feat never previously achieved in the Premier League.

The top assists chart this season clearly reveals City's dominance this season that saw that record an outstanding centurions of Premier League points.

Another Chelsea record to fall was the 103 goals amassed by Carlo Ancelotti's 2009/2010 title winners as City's free-scoring season took them to 106 at an average of almost 2.8 a game.

Arsenal, whose head coach Arsene Wenger bid farewell to fans after 22 years in charge of capital club, bested Huddersfield Town 1-0, while Bournemouth came from behind to beat seventh-placed Burnley 2-1.

Swansea City were relegated from the EPL after suffering a 1-2 defeat at home against Stoke City. United was already assured of second place before its 1-0 win over Watford, in Michael Carrick's final game for the club.

Warding off interest that is sure to come for Mohamed Salah after a remarkable 44-goal season is paramount if Liverpool are to challenge for the title next season.

The Blues, meanwhile, were looking to secure three more Premier League records that would complete an incredible campaign. Chelsea is off to the Europa League, and in poor form ahead of next week's FA Cup Final against Manchester United.

"We did it all season, no surrender, try until the end", he said.

The theme of strong Saints defending continued in the second-half, and City would go the close through winger Sterling; his fierce strike cannoning off the post following their first real opening of the match. "I know you need some luck to score these type of goals but we tried". Jesus removed his shirt and twirled it in celebration in front of City's supporters.

City will celebrate on the streets of Manchester on Monday with an open-top bus parade.
