Spokesperson of the Party, Malam Bolaji Abdullahi who briefed the media after a closed-door meeting by the Chief John Odigie-Oyegun led National Working Committee (NWC) disclosed that fresh primary would now hold on Friday, May 11 this week.

"It is only when people want to serve themselves, they coerce citizens to queue behind them through imposition rather than selling themselves or their preferred candidates to the people who should have the ultimate power to elect or not to elect anyone as their leader in a democracy".

Voting ended at 5:05pm and the committee chaired by Ifeanyi Okowa, governor of Delta state, gave the aspirants the opportunity to comment about the poll before collation began.

Mr Adeyeye polled 771 votes, a performance considered by his admirers as a good outing considering the fact that the state governor, Ayo Fayose, deployed all his arsenal against him, in support of the victor of the primaries.

Professor Kolapo Olusola Eleka, deputy governor of Ekiti State, has won the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the July 14 governorship election.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Ekiti State governorship election, Prof Kolapo Olusola has mocked the All Progressives Congress (APC) for its Ekiti primary election fiasco.

The others, according to him, are former federal lawmakers, speakers, serving and former members of National Executive Committee, who are still members of the party and former governors.

Prince Secondus said that the real victor from the exercise is democracy and not any individual as the PDP family in Ekiti would be healthier from the primary.

"The party commends all stakeholders, particularly the aspirants, for the spirit of sportsmanship being displayed in their commitment toward a peaceful, free and credible process".

For this, he urged PDP members in the state to remain vigilant and not relent until what he described as the final success is achieved on July 14. I commend all the delegates for exercising their civic right.

I'm his words, "I will reach out to Prince Adeyeye and Senator Olujimi and personally visit them".

Before her decision to step down, accreditation of delegates was already being conducted from a building opposite the Eagle Hall venue of the primary election.

"They should come and learn from Governor Okowa". Even when elections are scheduled for a particular date, some people in other parties will still fix it for another day, because they can't get their acts together.
