Chris Paul led the Rockets to a Game 5 win against the Jazz, propelling Houston into the Western Conference Finals.

The Westgate SuperBook in Las Vegas opened with Golden State listed as -185 favorites to win the series against Houston.

Tuesday night's win for the Houston Rockets was huge for the team and even more special for two players who have been friends since they were kids.

The Rockets went 2-1 against the Warriors in the regular season, but the game they lost deserves a bit of an asterisk because neither James Harden nor Kevin Durant participated. They'll also need to temper the indeterminable impact of Green for the Warriors, who has spent a lot of time facilitating for Golden State this postseason, and do what the Pelicans couldn't and find a solution for Durant.

On top of that, the Rockets won two of three games against the Warriors during the regular season, when the Warriors were the favorites in all three.

This is the fourth straight Western Conference finals that will include the Warriors, but the first repeat series. Well if the Warriors didn't have two-time MVP Steph Curry available to clock in for this showdown, then it would be 100 percent plausible to pick the Rockets. It was a formula built to stop Golden State, but one that also took care of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Jazz in five games each. The Warriors Community Foundation will donate $15,000 to the charity Durant chose, Oakland Elizabeth House, which provides residences to women and children who have been homeless or faced violence or addiction. The question is, now that the season is over, what did we learn about the Pelicans from the elimination game and the series as a whole?

The Warriors have eliminated the Pelicans in five games. In this picture, Curry #30 of the Golden State Warriors congratulates Durant #35 after he made a basket against the Minnesota Timberwolves at ORACLE Arena in Oakland, California, on January 25, 2018. "We just stayed together".

"My mom used to say to me, 'man, Donovan, you're good.' I'd be like, alright, thank you but moms are supposed to say that". SportsLine will have game-by-game gambling advice for every playoff series here. "He went out there and took over the game".

Given that a gambler could make way more money betting on the Rockets with how things now are with Westgate, the Rockets might be the conventionally safer bet from that perspective.

Although I think the Warriors will end up prevailing over the Rockets in this series, it's most likely going to be tightly contested. Are you ready, basketball fans?

"One thing about him is he's not afraid to try things and really apply it".

Whenever it started, however it started, it's clear that this is the series that the NBA-watching world wanted.
