When the 600-plus guests ascend the red carpeted steps at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the annual fundraiser known as the Met Gala on Monday, there will be a very important person in the midst - Wendy Yu, an investor and philanthropist who in March endowed the position of Curator in Charge of the Costume Institute in perpetuity.

This year's Met Gala is due to take place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, with the exhibit housed in Fashion mogul Anna Wintour's Costume Centre, the medieval rooms in the Met on Fifth Avenue and the Cloisters. When not imitating a cheese omelette, Rihanna loves to dress like a coral reef at the Met Gala. The "Stay" singer rocked an undo updo and understated makeup - letting her diamonds (including Jacob & Co. four-carat diamond studs and a 18k white-gold diamond choker and five rings) steal the show. In the previous years, while many have played it safe, other stars like Rihanna and Solange Knowles went really insane with the theme.
