Apple might have a new iPhone SE in the works

One of these models is anticipated to be the iPhone SE 2, replacing the 2-year-old iPhone SE as the new low-priced option in Apple's smartphone lineup.

What's new, however, is Kuo's claims that the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone as well as the 6.5-inch OLED iPhone will feature dual SIM card slots.

Earlier this year, Bloomberg reported that Apple was also considering dual-SIM functionality for the larger 6.5-inch iPhone X Plus.

The price of the dual SIM iPhone could range from $650 to $750.

DSDS iPhones, which will support dual-LTE support, should help Apple sell more iPhones in China where dual-SIM handsets are really popular. Some of these versions will come with dual-SIM dual standby (DSDS) powers, including 6.1-inch versions - but not all of them - and the 6.5-inch "Plus" model.

So when Kuo says a 2018 iPhone with a 6.2-inch display could cost between $550 and $650, people take notice. What's even more interesting is that the LCD iPhone price would start at $550. Apple launched iPhone SE in March 2016 and the smartphone now sells for Rs 18,000 approximately.

More information about Apple's 2018 iPhone range is dropping every week, so be sure to check back in to soon for all the latest news. This is the first time Apple will deploy dual-SIM technology in iPhones and at this price, it has the potential to be a game changer. It was launched at a premium price point of Rs 89,000/- for the base model, which comes with 64GB storage while the higher 256GB storage variant cost Rs 1,02,000/-. It has been also speculated that the new iPhone SE 2 will come with an A-10 chip and 2 GB RAM, similar to the specs of iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, launched a year ago. This resulted in excess production capacity for Samsung. New filings with a European regulatory agency have revealed that the iPhone SE 2 just might be in the pipeline.

The filing shows that the ECC has already given the all-clear for a number of new iPhone models to go on sale. It is a popular model, topping customer satisfaction surveys, becoming the t op-selling smartphone in the United Kingdom in the year it launched, and Apple revealed last year that it is a strong performer in emerging markets like India. Prospective prices for the two OLED iPhones Apple plans to introduce in 2018 were not mentioned in today's note, but those two devices are expected to be significantly more expensive. An upgrade seems long overdue, and rumors of an iPhone SE 2 have been making rounds for a good while now. Wireless charging might be added though, as well as a faster processor.
