If you want to tell the whole family that dinner is ready, or that the evening's movie is about to start, you can broadcast that message through every Eco simultaneously.

Rolling out to users in the United States and Canada, Amazon devices can now act as a one-way intercom system in a home. From there, users can broadcast any message they want through an army of Echo speakers, but, as mentioned earlier, only those in the USA or Canada will enjoy this functionality for now.

Even better, once your announcement or broadcast is set, all other compatible Echo devices will make your announcement using your voice.

If you hate going around every room of the house to alert the family that dinner is ready, Amazon is about to make your life a whole lot easier.

How do Alexa Announcements work? Amazon Key's key features, like guest access and remote unlocking, are now rolling out to all Amazon customers in the United States, pushing the company's ambitions in the smart home security market forward.

Mortgage Brain says Amazon's Alexa boxes can now ask consumers a few questions and then search through more than 10,000 loans to find suitable products.

Amazon announced it's expanding hands-free mode to Alexa voice assistant on the Fire 7 and Fire HD 8 tablets.

Unfortunately, Brits won't be able to bark out those commands just yet.

With Amazon's track record of encouraging companies to come onboard the Alexa bandwagon, this will likely lead to more smart lamps being released that can do a lot more than just turn on and off.
