Conor McGregor gets angry after turning down Khabib fight

Okay, Khabib Nurmagomedov fans, we have good news and we have bad news.

Now, Max Holloway has stepped in to save the event and the current UFC featherweight champion will have the opportunity to join elite company should he do the unthinkable and dent The Eagle's current 25-0 record.

The 26-year-old can also become the youngest fighter in history to earn titles in multiple divisions.

He post message saying like "I'm staying ready bla bla bla" but now when UFC call him he's not ready... I said yes. Eventually, Max replied and Dana gave him the fight.

UFC President Dana White announced the news only hours ago on social media. "But when I saw my MRI image, dude, I don't know about you, but I was like it looked like a flag with my ligament, it was hanging on the side of the pole".

"I don't think Conor McGregor could make the weight on six days" notice.

This fight has been scheduled four times, and four times it has fallen through.

McGregor is the official UFC lightweight champion as it stands, after becoming a two-weight champion in his most recent MMA fight, though he is expected to lose the belt amid the culmination of the Nurmagomedov-Holloway fight.

According to White, they opted not to slot McGregor into that main event due in part to the challenge of cutting weight.

In a situation that can be described as dizzying, White confirmed to ESPN's Brett Okamoto that this fight would be for the undisputed lightweight title, meaning that Ferguson would be stripped of his interim lightweight championship and Conor McGregor would be stripped of his lightweight championship.

The former UFC champion was last seen in the Octagon when he KO'd former WSOF Lightweight Champion Justin Gaethje on December 2, 2017 at UFC 218. To give even more reason for excitement, both Holloway and Khabib have openly expressed interest in bringing the UFC to their respective homelands (Holloway is from Hawaii while Khabib is from Russia) and bringing the victor of this fight to their home, would truly be an incredible moment in UFC history.

McGregor is pencilled in for a return to UFC in September, after last year's blockbuster boxing match against Floyd Mayweather.

"After this fight, I'm gonna ask UFC, 'Hey, Madison Square Garden, me vs Georges St-Pierre - November". He already middleweight and welterweight champion.
