The main objective in Monster Hunter: World is to simply battle big monsters in epic locales.

Capcom has revealed today all the details on the content included in the upcoming first major update of Monster Hunter: World, which launches on March 22. The repeatable missions and ease of collaboration with friends and strangers alike struck a chord with gamers, giving Capcom the message loud and clear that there's a demand for such games in the West rather than just in Asian markets.

Toppling the fearsome Deviljho "Brute Wyvern" will grant new materials from the beast that can be used to craft the Vangis α and Vangis ß armour sets, as well as one new version in each of the 14 existing weapon types, including a new Deviljho Sword, Shield, Hunting Horn, Bow, Insect Glaive and Charge Blade. Come celebrate with us and participate in daily fun activities, which will, of course, involve a lot of monster hunting.

As well as the weapon changes, the March 22 update will add the ability to edit your in-game character after character generation is complete, something that wasn't possible before.

And the other, available at the start of the Spring Blossom Fest on April 6th, will unlock materials to craft the Wyvern Ignition Great Sword, the victor of our community Weapon Design Contest.

We're also getting the first seasonal event in the form of the Spring Blossom Festival, from April 6th to April 19th.

Update: Capcom has gone over all the new updates in a blog post.

Capcom will be giving away one free voucher on March 16 that will let you edit your hunter's gender and physical appearance. Every player will get one voucher for free on 22nd March, and further vouchers will be available to purchase at a later date.

Other changes being introduced are the ability to edit your character's look - it seems as though you will only be able to do this once, however, with additional changes available by purchasing tickets.

Players can also expect to enjoy shorter loading times, a new ability that allows you to return to the Gathering Hall following a quest, a variety of gameplay tweaks created to balance the game, and much more when this update is released.
