Bonet, who left "The Cosby Show" and went on to star in the spin-off, "A Different World", was asked if she ever sensed that "anything was happening". "There was just energy", said the 50-year-old actress who played Denise Huxtable, his second-oldest child on the long-running NBC comedy. "And that type of sinister, shadow energy can not be concealed", Bonet said. "That's my nature. The truth will set you free".

As noted by Net-a-Porter, Bonet had been reported to have had a strained relationship with Cosby during their later years of working together.

Here's what Bonet had to say about Cosby and his sexual assault retrial coming up shortly in the Philadelphia area.

Bonet was sacked from "The Cosby Show" in April 1991 because of "creative differences". He didn't approve of her posing topless in Interview magazine, and opposed her doing a nude scene with Mickey Rourke in the film "Angel Heart". When asked if the Cosby allegations "tainted" her memories of The Cosby Show, she said, "No, it's exactly as I remember it".

Phylicia Rashad, Keshia Knight Pulliam and Malcolm Jamal Warner have defended Cosby, but Bonet hasn't been very outspoken about the dozens of accusations - until now.

"I don't need to say, 'I told you so, '" Bonet says. She was previously Wednesday to musician Lenny Kravitz. But a new interview depicts her as aware of her TV dad's dark side. "I just leave all that to karma and justice and what will be".

She accused Cosby of drugging and molesting her at his home in 2004 and he was charged with three counts of aggravated indecent assault stemming from the incident.
