Today, February 22, Microsoft announced its new Surface Pro for the Indian markets across retailers and over 130 commercial resellers. It comes with a starting price of Rs. 64999.

As the Surface Pro comes with Kaby Lake processors, it's battery consumption is really efficient with Microsoft claiming it to last up to 13.5 hours on a single charge.

Microsoft on Thursday announced the availability of Surface Pro notebook and accessories in India.

The Surface Pro comes with an upgraded battery that promises a 50 per cent jump in battery life over the Surface Pro 4. For the uninitiated, the Surface range is a flagship tablet and laptop lineup from Microsoft. It runs Windows 10 Pro out-of-the-box. It features a 12.3-inch Full HD+ (2160×1440 pixels) display which supports the Surface Pen. For optics, the device relies on an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera.

The new Surface Pro is just 8.5mm thick and weighs just around 767 grams.

Coming to performance, the tablet is equipped with three processor and graphics options.

The one with Intel Core i7, 512 GB SSD, 16GB RAM and Intel IrisTM Plus Graphics 640 configuration is available for Rs 1,82,999. The tablet offers up to 16GB RAM and up to 512GB SSD hard disk. You can also pay $ 1100 and take the model with the same CPU, but with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB of ROM.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 2017 features WiFi, Bluetooth, USB 3.0 port, microSD card reader, Mini Display port, a cover port and Surface Connect as some of the connectivity options. This allows you the flexibility to use it both as a tablet as well as a laptop. You can add a Surface Pro Type Cover, which comes in a regular black colour and a signature platinum edition as well. The fifth-generation Surface Pro accompanied by its accessories are now available for purchase from Amazon India and Flipkart along with offline presence via Croma, Reliance Digital, Vijay Sales among other authorized brick and mortar stores. The updated Surface Pen costing supports 4096 pressure levels for better usability and it will also come baked in with a tilt detection functionality.
