Stephen Gaghan (Traffic, Syriana) will direct from a script that he wrote (an earlier draft was penned by Tom Shepherd). Emma Thompson, Ralph Fiennes and Tom Holland will voice some of the animals that Downey's Dolittle will talk to, the Tracking Board has confirmed. Now, we're getting a bit more insight as to who will be sharing the silver screen alongside Downey Jr. when he stars as the doctor with an uncanny ability to talk to animals.

Doctor Dolittle, of course is a doctor who can speak to animals, and Selena will voice one of the animals in the upcoming flick, The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle.

The film has also scored a few notable stars who'll be featured in live-action roles including Michael Sheen and Antonio Banderas.

This isn't the first time we've seen Dolittle up on the big screen.

The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle is scheduled for release on April 12, 2019. Filming is expected to begin later this month across the pond in London. The story is based on 1920's children books by Hugh Lofting.

Universal beat out several rival studios in their bid to acquire the movie past year, with Downey already attached to the project.

Holland is also set to lend his voice to the Blue Sky feature Spies in Disguise, and will reprise his role as Spider-Man in May's Avengers: Infinity War.He is repped by WME, the U.K.'s Curtis Brown and Sloane Offer.

Dolittle's nemesis, Banderas, stars as Picasso in the latest season of the National Geographic series Genius. The two movies grossed a combined more than $470 million worldwide. Sheen (Masters of Sex, Midnight in Paris) will play a character called Mudfly, who will operate as a sort of sidekick to Downey's Doctor Dolittle.
