Manchester United face competition to sign Paris Saint-Germain outcast Lucas Moura

The 25-year-old Brazil International is looking to leave PSG in search of first team football and looks set to join the club he snubbed some five years ago to move to Paris.

Multiple sources, including Canal+ and Gazzetta Dello Sport, have claimed that Paris Saint-Germain's Lucas Moura has agreed to sign for Manchester United, with a definitive deal now in the negotiations between the two clubs.

Sources in France believe Lucas is keen to make the move to United, but he won't be forced out by PSG - unless it is a deal that he wants.

Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Metro) reported the Ligue 1 leaders want £35 million for the winger, but the Red Devils wish to initially take the player on loan.

Lucas has fallen behind world record signing Neymar and loan signing Kylian Mbappe in the pecking order at the Ligue 1 giants in the current campaign.

Just one league win in the past four matches - the 2-0 triumph over Everton on New Year's Day - has presumably led Mourinho to the conclusion that new attacking options are required in the winter window.

The Old Trafford faithful have not forgotten the choice the winger made, even if it was Sao Paolo's choice really.

"I am concentrating on improving my physical performance", Moura told Brazilian outfit UOL Esporte.

Moura has played only 79 minutes in all competitions for PSG so far this season, scoring just one goal and assisting one further strike.

United, who came close to signing Lucas before he moved to the French capital in 2013, would like to bolster their squad this month - with boss Jose Mourinho wanting a left-back and a forward at least.
