The man allegedly went up to Harvey and said, "you're a piece of sh*t for what you did to these women", and he then attempted to attack Harvey. According to TMZ, the man, named Steve, approached Weinstein asking for a photo. Steve unleashed a wave of profanity on Weinstein, driving him out of the restaurant.

Movie producer Harvey Weinstein, who was sacked from The Weinstein Co.in October following reports that documented decades of sexual harassment and allegations of rape and abuse, was slapped by a patron at an Arizona restaurant Tuesday night.

Weinstein went to Scottsdale in October and took part in a therapy programme there shortly after sexual misconduct allegations against him began to emerge.

Former Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein was reportedly slapped in the face at an Arizona restaurant Tuesday night. The man said that Weinstein vehemently refused, although the restaurant manager stated that Weinstein did so politely. Steve tells TMZ he had "quite a bit to drink", told his friend to fire up his cell phone and shoot video of what was about to happen. Weinstein's representative Sallie Hofmeister tells The Arizona Republic in an email that TMZ's report was accurate, but would not provide further comment.

But I can't be sure if Steve slapped Weinstein for the same reason Paul Sorvino wants to hit him or just because Weinstein is an asshole, the reason Jason Priestly hit him.

The filmmaker declined to press charges and quickly left the restaurant.

Weinstein reportedly declined to have the police called about the incident.

Steve said to the organization that he "punched" Weinstein in the face a few times and he then fell backward.
