Time travel? Flight takes off in 2018, lands in 2017

Time travel is only possible in science fiction movies, as scientists are yet to invent a device for that objective, but, in a rather odd phenomenon, the passengers and crew of a Hawaiian flight went back in time - from New Year 2018 to 2017. That meant the eight-hour flight landed at 10:16 a.m. on December 31, 2017.

Hundreds of people have joined a discussion on Twitter after a plane left a town in 2018 and arrived at their destination in 2017.

So in a year's time, if you find yourself reluctant to let go of 2018, know that there is a way to stay in the past for just a little bit longer. According to the reports in RT, the flight was scheduled to take off at 11:55 pm but after the delay of 10 minutes, it took off at 12:05 am.

That's because the flight crossed the International Date Line on its journey from Auckland to Hawaii.

A flight by Hawaiian Airlines did some serious time travelling this week. Sam Sweeney, a transportation reporter for Washington, DC, station WJLA, was the first to notice the sci-fi-esque take-off and landing times of the flight. Thanks to the different time zones across the globe!

As if that wasn't enough, one Twitter user threw a whole other time-travel aspect of the passengers' flight into the mix.
