Liverpool stand firm as Barça advertise Coutinho shirts

He has scored 12 goals and assisted nine in 20 games in all competitions, but Barca are expected to renew their interest as early as January.

Coutinho has always been linked with a move to Barcelona, and was the subject of three failed bids from the Catalan side in the summer.

Nike are responsible for Barcelona's kit and merchandise.

The Reds have held firm throughout 2017 to keep Coutinho out of Barcelona's clutches.

There's still been no word from either club or from Nike, but a handful of journalists with connections to the Liverpool end have come out today with something of a collective shrug.

"An advert appeared on the sportswear giant's website stating that 'Philippe Coutinho is ready to light up Camp Nou" before offering punters the chance to buy a Barcelona shirt with the Brazilian midfielder's name on the back.

Sky Sports pundit Guillem Balague has excellent connections at Liverpool. Looking into his crystal ball, Balague softened his belief that Coutinho will definitely remain at Anfield. There has been no meetings with Barcelona, FCB have put no new offer (yet), LFC have put no price to him, there was no promise from LFC to him to sell him now, LFC are not forced to sell, but.

"What will happen in January, we will know it in January". Are they planning to agree something for the summer? Not as it stands.
