Those reports indicate Gruden could receive $10 million in salary and an ownership stake.

In a move no one would have predicted before this season, Raiders coach Jack Del Rio announced following Sunday's 30-10 loss to the Chargers that team owner Mark Davis had fired him.

The Raiders finished the season at 6-10 after the starting the season hoping for a Super Bowl run after going 12-4 last season. This is a real situation to monitor, with the Raiders desperate to land Gruden after canning Del Rio and hoping that the one-time Super Bowl victor can reinvigorate the Raiders as they head to Las Vegas.

Last offseason, Gruden acknowledged talking to Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay, but said the conversation was not focused on a coaching job.

For the past near decade, Gruden has been an ESPN analyst, with constant rumors around where and when he would return to the game. Chuck Pagano, who remained the coach this season, was under contract at the time.

"I don't want to sit here and speculate".

Earlier on Sunday, it was reported that Gruden was vetting coordinators and former players to take spots on his coaching staff. "I can't say I haven't taken any phone calls". Yeah, sometimes owners. Guys want to bounce ideas off me.
