The Detroit Lions torched the Green Bay Packers safety for a long touchdown pass in the first half of Sunday's season finale at Ford Field. However, a number of teams reportedly complained that the Packers move violated the rules regarding players who are eligible to be placed on injured reserve - and that Green Bay should have to release quarterback Rodgers.

After an incomplete from Jeff Janis, the Packers settle for the 41-yard field goal.

In the second quarter, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix misses the tackle on Lions Kenny Golladay.

The Lions (9-6) still have a very slim chance of reaching the playoffs, but they need to defeat the Packers and get some - actually a lot of - help.

The Packers finish the season 7-9, missing the playoffs for the first time since 2008.

Detroit regained control 35-11 with 7:16 to go on a 7-yard touchdown run by Ameer Abdullah followed by a surprise two-point conversion pass from Tate to Stafford to set the final margin. Matt Prater added two field goals of 28 and 30 yards, respectively.

Sack master: When veteran defensive end Ziggy Ansah is healthy, he can still be a dominant pass rusher, as he's shown the last two weeks.

Detroit entered the game fourth in the National Football League in takeaways with 28.

Tate led the way with seven catches for 104 yards and a score.

The Lions finished with a 35-11 victory to complete the series sweep over the Packers. Detroit has had to start 10 different o-line combinations this season which has really hurt their offensive consistency. CB Davon House had a shoulder injury and Williams was evaluated for a concussion late in the game. Green Bay, giving him 12.0 for the season.
